Life's A Lie

by Asta Dido

He looked at the moon

From the side of his eye

He started to gargle

He started to sigh

And so to sing

Weighs a way to live a tune

My pie has life

Life’s a  lie

To get my true love in the grass

And shove a feather up her

            I pass epass

Idiots whistle a merry tune

Love’s a crazy red-assed baboon

So, face the dish and break the spoon

Cry a laugh and spade a cow

wow

Place a virgin

Before the king

Give him a hammer

And make him sing

Make her tingle

Make her cry

Spread her charms

On wheat and rye

When I grow up I’ll make it big

And hide my joy

Behind a fig

I’ll chase a spider

As he trots by

And tongue a lass

With a lash of line

Spoken with honey

And drops of lime

And love them and love them

Until they cry

Love’s too lovely to live a lie

So, roll the sheets

And make the bed

Place a garland

Above my head

But spread the boots

And spread them wide

Love my friend

Awaits inside

Abide

Abide
