To Sail At Sea

Cruising on last night’s prayer

I go calmly to the sea

To know that I am safe

God watching o’er me

And over all who sail with me

To his vast ocean

And green deep sea

We will hear the gull’s cry

And watch albatross soar

Hear the creaking beams complain

And watch sparkling water splash

As the bow cuts the plane

And though a wake of foam is cast

There is not anger in the waves

For the water is calm today

As the dolphins who follow play

Let us stop and take pause

Let the seas, the earth and life replenish

Let it not waste and wash away

Let the tides bring abundance

So the child on the shore can play

And live with health to sail at sea

Willing for those who follow

To truly enjoy

Throughout eternity…
