Being a kid
I remember
I could try
To go as high
As Unicorn’s fly
Then forgotten
For the longest time
For no reason
Or no rhyme
Adult life obscured my view
Of how it was when I flew
With Arden Drone’s so anew
Now as an older man
I have returned
With lifes scars
And having been burned
To that place
I once knew
To fly stronger and higher
My God, what a view
The kid in me rides along
And together both
We sing a song
How lovely is life
we can see
Was and is and still can be
There’s room for more
So, come be merry
We’ll make it three
Yes, be happy
And tra la la la lee
Free as all get out
As ever can be
Want to hear more
Just wait and see
What the muse of poetry
Has in his cup for me…
